Haha, this was gold. I loved it. It was totally missing from Close to Me because really, I think SOMEONE needed to point out Jane/Declan to Spinner and Jay would've noticed SOMETHING. The Janny dialogue you have is just dead on to them, hilarious, and adorable. You have a real knack for humor. Great job.

Oh, I loved this! I thought that episode of Degrassi was pretty good, and I love that Manny and Jay made a cameo. Nice work!

I'm glad someone else noticed the weird look that Jay was giving Declan. Anyway, this is a terrific oneshot. I love Janny and I could totally see all of this going through Jay's head. I liked how Manny told him that they couldn't be compared to Spinner and Jane. And I love that Jay worries for Spinner.

*steam comes out of ears* There is so much going on!

First of all Jay said "cuckoo bananas." That alone needs to be canon. In fact, it needs to be my ringtone. How can we make that happen?

Then he made an Askewniverse reference.

Then this '“Here’s the thing. Jane is the same age right now that you were when we started going out. Spinner is the same age as I was. If those two can’t make it, what does that say about us? Do you want to go get other guys out of your system, too?”

...“I can’t believe how much I love you. You’re such a friggin’ idiot!”'

And I definitely wondered about the same moment when I saw the show, knowing that Jay has to feel a certain amount of protectiveness for Spinner. They've been through too much together and are bonded and that's just it.
