Hey there! I'm glad you're back. Hope your "lazy" holiday was at least enjoyable.

And about the joke thing, it was sort of, "what the hell" when I read the review reply, but then I got to that part in the chapter and thought "Oh yeah! That joke. Duh!" Forehead slap followed immediately by much giggling and grinning.

As for the note deductions, I understood the reasoning, but I got lost in the explanation, if that makes any sense to you.

And one little lesson in grammar for this chapter, and no worries for this one as it is a very common mistake. Towards the end, Kaito and Conan on the phone. "Once You've past 50[percent]" You used past, where you should have used passed(past tense of the verb 'to pass')

Funny thing is, if you had written you're, then that would have made your use of "past" a preposition and therefore correct. Past can also be used as an adjective(past lives), an adverb(walking past), or a noun(past, present, future).

Anyway, looking forward to this next heist. And I have faith that you'll catch up, you did it once, you can do it again.

Oh no!! I was downstairs watching a movie and didn't get to read this chapter when it first came out!

but this chapter! so much to talk about and so little brain power!! (I'm still on break for this week...don't go back til the 11th...but I can't get in my dorm til the 10th...isn't that lame?) but Kai-chan! and he didn't freak at the mention of fish! and Kuba-kun! and...drat..my brain is still rebooting...a oneshot yesterday broke it and it was doing good til this chapter...but now...my brain needs a reboot cause of the awesomeness!

I wasn't able to read it at Christmas because my parents changed plans without telling me! I am now living with my grandparents who have the slowest internet in the world! When it works that is! Rawr!! I got to read it on New Year's Eve though! Happy New Year!!

Kaito's song at the beginning was great! I sang it... And then burst out laughing!
Is Kaito's singing worse than Shinichi's? I know that is a big accomplishment and all but if Conan is complaining with his own voice, Kaito must be pretty bad!

An actual elf? Well, with magic existing and all I can't say I am surprised! =) I love it how she thought Conan-kun was an elf! Hear us well, there is no magic behind him being small. Just a bunch of really shady bad guys after immortality and power. You know, the usual!

That bit at the end with the "Merry Christmas...dad," was so nice! I love it! It is the first year Kaito-kun knew he was still around and... Aw! That was just really nice!

Are you going to write about Kaitou Kid and Kid Kaitou in the next chapter? I love them! =) I still laugh about the fish thing in the first heist though! Too bad Kaito-kun had to get revenge! *Laughs*

Well, I dont't think it really matters whether it's good or bad. Lol, It's interesting imagining just saying the name Hoseki randomly and the room going silent. (And of course I'd give you credit ^^ although, I'm not sure I'll actually say it in public...hmm)

Hey! An awesome Christmas special. Loved it very much. Funny, I didn't realize what you were talking about with "that joke" until I was reading it. WooHoo!! Really did enjoy how that played out. Love yah for that.

Also, I noticed a couple typos. Come on Ran, -Hope- in.

From the entrance of the town it had appeared -quiet- flat.
That quite vs quiet seems to be very common. I've seen it at least a few times before.

And as for your challeng of sorts in the author's notes, The only possible reference I notices was "The mystery of the moving bag" but that's not animu, it's A video game, and possibly a manga after that, though I wouldn't know if it actually happens there. Kingdom Hearts 2. The only one of the series I've actually had the chance to play through to date.

Speaking of Kingdom hearts, there's a pretty good Crossover between it and DC/MK I know of. Promenade by, I think it was Ocianne, either way, it's in the DC/KH crossovers section. Anyway, I was thinking, if you haven't already, you should offer this story as a universe for Kaito and Saguru to visit in the sequal "The Way Home". I think it would be a pretty cool one to see.
