This is an interesting story taken from the perspective of Blanche. I always thought of her as a nasty, spoiled rival to make Jane jealous. In many movies, opinions, and fanfics she is portrayed that way. But here you show her as actually having feelings and wanting more than a comfortable lifestyle.

I like that you mention that she was aware of her greedy intentions when it came to Rochester. I was surprised, and felt sorry for her when you wrote of how she wanted love from her husband. It's nice to read stories where the author takes an unlikable character and gives him/her something more in the depths of his/her heart than what is typically visible. What I like most is that she feels envy for Jane's happy marriage more than the fact that Jane was chosen instead of her. This shows Blanche on a deeper level than usual, nice job with that.

I like the writing style. It is grammatically correct and sounds educated as Blanche would speak. There are some nice descriptions of the weather and sky on that particular day. It is made obvious how important the memory of that day is to her. Great work with that.

In all, this makes for a wonderful tragedy, I feel sad for Blanche. Great characterization and excellent details. I look forward to reading future works from you.
