Firestar9mm 4/24/10 . chapter 2I'd like to thank you for being one of the very few writers I've encountered who see "love" the way I see "love"-evolution, chemical reactions, things that take time and have to heat up and cool down like something in a kiln. Love mutates and infects just like a virus, too, I think, and sometimes it turns people into monsters, too, but other times the reaction works much better. Like this. It's the strangest thing, but I had the fleeting thought of Sleeping Beauty as I read through this. Is that strange?
It's such an interesting idea, I mean-awakening.
And I really admire how you handle Leon. He's just ROUGH sometimes. He's a little scary. He sometimes finds HIMSELF scary, or distasteful, but everyone ought to live with it, because HE has to, after all. It makes me want to tell him he's more than the sum of his scars. Sometimes he seems not to feel that way himself.
Luckily for him, there's Claire, constancy, strong through scars herself, and while it saddens me to see her so "watered down" (excellent observation on his, and by extension, your part), their interactions give me such hope that time is no object here. HOPEFUL-that's what I get out of this. Not sure if it were what you intended, but it's what I took away, and it makes me smile.
(puzzled expression) You know, there's a helicopter at the beginning of "Goodnight Saigon"... |
Tani2 11/7/09 . chapter 1Wow...that was amazing. An excellent one shot that explores their friendshp, their support of each other, their suffering, and their love. And it even brought in how much the viruses have damaged everyone else, esp. Chris and Jill. I loved it! NOW...about Inclination...ahem...more chapters please? LOL. Seriously. You're one of my fave authors. Well done as usual, and I look forward to reading more whenever you can post. |
