This was wonderful!

Great characterization of Alucard and Seras. I can totally see Alucard making up some silly reason to get comfort from someone he knows would care. But being him, he could never come out and tell her what he went through, thinking it makes him seem "weak".

I like to think Seras will eventually learn things about him, maybe not from him yelling her, but by putting the clues together. Like reading some of Hellsing's notes on him (I don't doubt they have a book or someone's personal notes that tell of what they suspect or even confirmed he went through) and realizing what his actions truly are.

this was great! poor seras. and, dare i say it? poor alucard. i can't believe you made me feel sympathy for him. i read this story twice. after finishing it the first time, i went back to read the dialogue you placed upon the young vampire girl's lips. it fit perfectly the situation to which it was tailored. my apologies for being so vague, but i'd rather not spoil the story for anyone else, particularly since it is so very good.

thank you for this thoughtful little piece. it was well worth the read.

Im a liar, full of filthy bacony lies. And I totally thought it was him, just because I know he can shapeshifter. Also, d'aw, coffin cuddles. Even if he did do it rather manipulatively. Tsk.

Wow. I must say that I'm glad I had hope that Alucard didn't actually rape the "girl". I immediately thought of the few pages in volume eight of the Hellsing graphic novels when the "girl" talked about her..err..incident. Anyway, the ending made my heart lurch and twist, always pitying the damned (sigh...not exactly what Dante taught to do) :) And yes, even at the end, you prove that appearances are deceiving. Even when Alucard lectures Seras, she doesn't realize that he, in fact, opened up to her a horrible childhood memory of his. Strange that he would do something so...intimate(?)...in a wierd way that yet screams longing. I loved it. Thank you!

This was so sad. I really fell sorry for Alucard at the end. And Seras is indeed far too trusting. Actually at the begining I actually thought Alucard had violated the girl. Glad to know he didn't. the take on Alucard's past and his opening up to Seras was very...interesting to say the least. I wouldn't have thought of it. You did a great job with this stry.
