The parts that were similar to House of the Night was the blood oath, the blood oath being broken, the main character's vision in the beginning, and the main character chosing between guys.
The imprinting in House of the Night is almost exactly the same as the blood oath in your story, even the part where she changes who she has the bond with and breaking her old bond, but from reading your A/N, you said you wanted to keep it different from House of the Night yet there were parts (which was the main plot of your story) that made it similar to House of the Night.

I was a reader of the old version of your story, and I came back to reread it (again) cause I really liked it! I find that the old version was better; it had a more interesting plot with the whole Old Soul thing and Akihiko playing a major role as the antagonist/past lover of Amari and Amari turning into a vampire then going back to a human and losing her memories. The ending of your original story was MUCH better and had a more powerful impact on me as the reader and overall, left a better impression to readers because of the deep meaning and bittersweet end. The pro about your edit is that Amari was a much more developed character, and was not Mary-Sue like before.
Overall, I think the old plot was much better and more developed and interesting for the reader. When you took it out, it made the story bland becaude so many other fanfics have two guys liking the main character. It lost it's unique quality, which disappoints me. I find the story boring now after reading the new version. You took out some of the actually GOOD bits of the story and just left the mainly cliché parts, which kind of kills the story for old readers like me because there's not really a plot anymore. Nothing else really happens besides a relationship and her almost death.
Too mainstream, you know?
Still a somewhat slightly decent story, but you took out too much of the actual good parts, uniqueness, and plot, so I can't really say I like the story anymore.

I like this one a lot better :D well id didnt read the original but i really like this one :D i jsut dont like how i dont know who she ends up with! I love Shiki and they have such intense moments but her and Ichijou are so cute :D

I read your entire story in a day. I adored it! Though the ending made me sad how it just stopped there :'c Otherwise, it was a really good story :D Although, Amari was a bit Mary-Sue from being so pretty and having- legit- every single guy like her. There were also a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes, but I understand from it being an old story and being written a long time ago. Overall, I really enjoyed your story :D

P.S. Shouldn't this also be under "Takuma" as well? It focuses way more on him (which is fine cause he's my favorite character :D), so I suppose it would fit "Takuma" better than "Shiki".
