Drabble? Lovely drabble. And normally I hate drabble.

As Vimes indeed discovered ("Men At Arms"?) it is indeed possible to resent Carrot for doing all those things effortlessly that you yourself may only acheive with great effort and struggle (if at all).

But as Vimes discovered immediately after voicing it, you don't half feel small and petty and ashamed of yourself - Vimes described the feeling as "like kicking a puppy" and decided that even to an old calloused street animal like himself, Carrot was to damn likeable to resent.

Nice take on how after a while it gets habitual and you just can't be bothered...
