Scarred Sword Heart 10/5/07 . chapter 2You're really talented. I love the idea of Sano riding around on a horse, gambling and getting into saloon brawls. It seems right up his alley. I know you're probably not in the fandom anymore, given the age of the story. But if you ever do pick up writing again, maybe you could show Sano driving cattle or train hopping his way across the continent. |
Daughter of Chaos 2/22/07 . chapter 2Oh, Sano in the old west short piece! I've always had this mad idea, this mad indulgence of seeing our Sano playing poker. Just stuck me as a good game for him once we taught him cards. As it played out here, Poker isn't all about luck the way dice is, there's the need to be a skilled actor to. This makes me think that maybe Sano learned that in this little glimpse into his wandering years. The bar fight was very well played out, and very in character. I could so see our rooster taking out old west saloons single handedly, and yes, enjoying the fact that they became rabid free for alls once a fight started.
I guess I'm not as loyal of a Megumi shipper for him though (not that I mind Meg, that's not it) as I defiantly could see the man spending time at brothels. Erm, with out regrets. . I'm a bad person.
Lovely story though! Excellent how you ended it with Sano thinking of home. I only have two wishes though, and I know I'm pretty well blowing smoke on both. I wish for one, that you would have interest in further short interludes into Sano's wandering years. And second, that your web page were still in exsistance. I'm fascinated by this idea of artwork to go with your stories. Che, it's to late to hope for a Sano fan fiction archive though... |
Daughter of Chaos 2/22/07 . chapter 1Hah. I just got the last three volumes of the manga a month ago. So, after I got done indulging in my darn fan girl needs (erm, the entire section of the story with Sano back in his home town, yes, the whole section was a fan girl indulgence for me *firm nod*), I moved on to reread the chapter where Sano and Meg left. Several times. Maybe I was looking for some of the in depth emotion?
In any case, I found what I was looking for here. I am really quite inspired by your first person ability with Sanosuke. You really do understand him, and that is a precious commodity. I read way to many fics where people dumb the 'stupid rooster' down way below a coherent I.Q. Level. This Sano, he's a realistic counterpart to the Sano Watsuki-san brought to life for us. I like him. And I like his private promise to the 'family' that the goodbye isn't for good. |
TrisakAminawn 10/15/06 . chapter 2You didn't finish this. Please note my anger. I was really liking it. ;D |
starry night blue 5/3/05 . chapter 2That was funny! That horse was...hahahaa!
Plz make sano go to england! or maybe italy! plz! |
starry night blue 5/3/05 . chapter 1This was good, this was really good...

S 7/15/04 . chapter 2 Please keep going with this fic! I want to find out what happens to Sano after he gets shot. What will he do in America... I wonder...
Please update soon! |
 sekihoutai 7/1/04 . chapter 1Really good story.
I got a nice feeling to it when I started reading the part where Sanosuke rides Maverick. Gives some kind of nostalgia or something.
And holy moly, I had this deja vĂș thingie when I read the part where Sano called Maverick. I was like :O :O :O WOA! Yup.
Know you haven't update in years, but I still like it. :) |
Allana 10/12/03 . chapter 2 Hi! I really enjoy your fic, please, continue the story soon or Im going to die ( Of curiosity, of course...) and after this fic, with Sano in America, why dont you try to make a fic with Sano our the Kenshingang in Brazil? Because I am from Brazil! I thing it would be diferent...but you makes your decision!
I just want to say that the fic is great.
Bye-bye. |
Laura517 10/5/03 . chapter 1Ah...you really made me relive how I felt when I read the end of the manga. I'm soo sad, but I still love it. And yes, I remind myself that it's not the end, he'll come back. Sniffle. Great fic. |
Karina Kineshi 2/4/02 . chapter 2*laughs* I've got to hand it to you Maren, you make Sanosuke look both good and stupid at the same time. The fault of some writers (like me) is that we don't show any weakness in our gangster, but that table scene was just too funny. If Siaoth had been in that room, I SWEAR I could have heard him go "Ahou." I also like the justification on getting rid of his outfit for a new, less conspicious one. *grins* Keep on writing! |
M.Kasshoku 2/3/02 . chapter 2Ooohhh! I like this. Sano is at it again, huh? Always getting into trouble. *snickers* I would love to read more about Sano in America. I love the fact that he gets to experience that kind of freedom, even if it's just for a little while. His memories, are brief yet vivid and just enough to get him through the fights that seem to find him. Oh, and I love the interaction between him and Maverick, who is now my favorite non-human character. (Don't send him to the glue-factory yet!) I'd love to read more of Sano and Maverick! This is a great chapter, Maren. I hope you continue this. SanoAmericalots of fun. Maybe not for him, but I'm sure having a lot of fun reading it. *giggles* Poor Sano...I can't wait to read more about this! |
g3ozLizh 2/3/02 . chapter 2Hmmm... something different for a change. This is cool. Keep going! Oh, yeah, I like Sano too! _ |
eri 2/3/02 . chapter 2 What you got Sano wearing, I imagine it as a cross between his usual self and a cowboy, and that's not a pretty picture. Haha. For realism's sake, I think he should be spouting broken English, the guy isn't exactly the biggest brain around so he probably won't be able to talk American too good. Otherwise, this is highly entertaining - excellent blend of comedy and action. Very vivid. Really, this is a well-written chapter! |
omni82 2/2/02 . chapter 2Heehee...chaps. I don't know what's so funny about Sanosuke in chaps but there it is. Funny. I didn't know you had put up the next installment. Personally, I's like to see sano try to make it in Boston's high society or something. That could be interesting. _ |
