Scullspeare 11/30/09 . chapter 1Well, you took one of the weepiest episodes of the season and managed to draw smiles from it. Bravo.
I'm still grinning at the thought of Sam trying to cook a 24-lb turkey. Hee. Although I'm pretty sure Dean could put a big dent in it, given when he did to that ham in I Believe That Children Are Our Future. *g*
After losing two more members of their extended family, it was nice to think of the brothers and Bobby celebrating (in their own unique way) what they still had, instead of grieving what they lost.
Hope you had an awesome Thanksgiving.
Thanks for this.
Cheers, Sculls |
 JackFan2 11/27/09 . chapter 1Aw and again I say, Aw...
We really needed some schmoop after that ep. Totally did. Bobby holding out on the pecan pie was priceless (that's totally my personal favorite pie) and I loved Dean's reaction.
Lovely work. |
PADavis 11/27/09 . chapter 1Nice POV - loved Bobby hiding things from hurricane Winchester too. And not overly fluffy - just an attempt to do something normal. With a 24 lb turkey. At least Bobby has a fridge so Dean won't feel compelled to try to eat the whole thing in one day.

LovinJackson 11/27/09 . chapter 1Aw Cas came and gave them the finishing touches :)

roguewarrior73 11/26/09 . chapter 1Wow V, That was great, sad and sweet. It made me cry. |
pizzicato 11/26/09 . chapter 1This was great. It was wonderful; the best "Abandon All Hope" tag I've seen. Have a Happy Thanksgiving. |
 TheKritty 11/26/09 . chapter 1Aw man!That was just...*SQUEE* I loved it!
It wasn't too schmoopy or something, it was perfect!
I loved how you described the boys from Bobby'S POV - it was so in character and I like the thought of Dean having nightmares because of the hellhounds - ok, that makes me somewhat cruel and sick, but then we're all cruel and sick, which we are *lol* - I was thinking that the moment I watched Meg loosed the hellhounds upon them and then it was once more Dean who was the first one on the ground (I was like 'Oh man, Dean-o, now you have to get flashbacks or something!'.) I don't think that these hellhounds will be a topic in the coming episodes,so I loved it that you mentioned them.
I also loved the idea of Sam wanting to make this thanksgiving dinner...and the turkey and his giblets...oh man, despite all the underlying tragedy and the latent angst, I was smiling SO hard!It was so...Sammy-ish! *lol*
Oh and Castiel was there!I liked that one!Cas was right, if there's one thing they could be thankful for,it's having each Bobby of course. But I'm sure they would know it without Castiel. Still, loved him having an appearance in this story!
Very well done!

pandora jazz 11/25/09 . chapter 1I could imagine Sam wanting to do something normal for the day, something with his family.
It was a good thing that they were at Bobby's, not sure the turkey would have been cooked right.
I like how Dean didn't get upset at being woke up early, but than I imagine the hellhounds did bother him, they upset me when Meg sent them after Dean, to many bad memories.
Thanks for having Castiel show up at the end, he said just the right thing, because Thanksgiving is about being thankful for family and the brothers do have each other, plus Bobby.
Thanks for the smile.
Happy Thanksgiving! |
borgmama1of5 11/25/09 . chapter 1This was a sweet little piece. You portrayed Bobby, Sam, and Dean authentically, and I could see this happening.
I wouldn't have minded if it was a little more detailed about the meal preparation, you could have put more brother interaction there, maybe recalling other Thanksgivings? |
sylia91 11/25/09 . chapter 1Sorely needed this after this last excellent but devastating episode. The things the boys have to be thankful are dwindling steadily but still so important. Happy Thanksgiving! |
vonnie836 11/25/09 . chapter 1Your know, I more than just like this story, I truly appreciate it. I love that Sam decided to make Thanksgiving dinner, that they all decided to celebrate, although they really didn't have anything to celebrate. It made a difference, if only for a little while. And then Castiel gave them a true reason to be thankful. Sometimes is the most obvious we forget about. Thanks for writing this. Hugs, Vonnie |
calcium77 11/25/09 . chapter 1I liked it :-) I felt like a little Thanksgiving cheer and this hit the spot!.
Have a great Thanksgiving! I feel inadequate with my tiny 11.5 pound turkey :-)

 IheartSam7 11/25/09 . chapter 1Very sweet. Happy turkey day! |
Phx 11/25/09 . chapter 1That was very sweet - a nice gentle tag. And I can see Sam wanting to do this for them. Poor kid probably tacks this on to things he's to be blamed for. So I really liked that Dean didn't give him any grief about waking him up :)
And Bobby was awesome, recognizing the grief and pain in both his boys and realizing what they needed. And even Castiel had a good reminder for them. |
 masondixon 11/25/09 . chapter 1Wonderful job. Thank You. |
