That confused me slightly, but it is an interesting concept to show Hanschen moving from person to person.

Simply beautiful. What I love about this is that you don't baby your readers, and you leave it up to them to infer what's happening. I particularly enjoyed the Hernst/wine analogy; it was cleverly worded, oh-so-poetic, and quite true. Thanks for making me think.

Each scene had its own personality and could almost be its own multi-chapter story. It's a melancholy ode to growing older - beginnings, ends, everything that comes before, between and after. It's made me feel - something most fics don't do much of, nowadays. More than that, it's made me feel a bit sad and nostalgic

I'd love it if you tried more in this style.
