Now, the story: it is short, and excellent. No Saint Snape, no Harry little marauder. Just both diffrent and human. I like them frail and weak, but not for insane pleasure of watching them suffer...(or imagine myself nursing Snape - Not Harry cause I hate pedophilia ). I think that living as a hero must be hard, and most of people don't want pay the price for glory. If all it is easy, many people want to be a hero!
Short, but perfect!

I really liked this story. Good tone, good flow, and an excellent idea. Keep writing, for you obviously have a talent for it.
