This is an interesting extrapolation of how Gojyo's past could make him less than kind in the present. I appreciate the fact that the author explained the thinking that went into the first story and the sequel was sweet, yet a bit disconcerting if you keep this "realistic". Actually fighting back against a drunk can make things *much* worse, but I tend to think this wonderful fic writer knows that perfectly well. This way, the reader can either chose a "happily ever after" ending or one where the cycle of domestic abuse follows a more realistic pattern. Brilliantly written, simply marvelous work.

realistic and yet ficcish in a way... loved the sequel, the 'instant grapple mechanism' gojyo has is just adorable... love the way you write gojyo & hakkai. really i do. _

I read the 1st chpt and thought, well...yeah, it was rather original & brutally realistic...poor Hakkai:( but it was written so well!
