Violetcarson 3/15/12 . chapter 1Lovely story. :D |
Lady Lan 6/19/11 . chapter 1I really enjoyed this! All of the characters were spot-on, and I was grinning at parts and cringing at others. Very well written, and a wonderful plot. Thanks for sharing! |
Marie King 6/6/11 . chapter 1Fantastic ! Please post more chapters! You capture everyone wonderfully! |
MidnightRosebud 7/23/10 . chapter 1Very nicely done. Touching, sad, and yet filled with just the right amount of right-ness. You touched on all the characters well. I have to say that River talking to Zoe about sex was hysterical. Especially Simon's and Kaylee's individual reactions to it. Priceless. |
TemperTemper 3/10/10 . chapter 1This is utterly beautiful, bb. You capture Kaylee perfectly - well you capture all of them and that time of stillness and reflection amongst the busyness of getting the ship space-worthy again. And I LOVED the Big Damn Movie *g* |
A Traveler 1/8/10 . chapter 1Loved this, sad and sweet. I loved visiting for a while with all my favorite Firefly characters- thanks for writing a Firefly fic! |
Marguerite Blakeney 12/23/09 . chapter 1Nice work- the structure was excellent, and everyone was convincingly in-character. It was a pleasure to read :) |
RionaEire 12/7/09 . chapter 1It took me three tries to get through this story, with all its talk of dead bodies etc. Normally that doesn't bother me particularly but there was a death in my family recently and it was hard to read because of that. I guess that means that you are effective at conveying the suffering and unpleasantries of bdm aftermath, conveying the gruesomeness and grief that they're going through and have been through recently. You write clearly with a talented voice and good turns of phrase. I liked it when the men called Kaylee "Miss Kaylee" I have always liked that as a sign of respect or propriety but no one does it that I know so I don't get to either. Initially when Kaylee said that Simon needed to talk about sex with River I thought "River's old enough, she already knows that stuff what with being a genius and all" but then I read the next part and said to nyself "... oh ... Yeah Simon definitely needs to have a talk with River about that, oh my, he really needs to". That actually brought up an interesting point about how some things should be discussed openly among people, if one is prudish about them then people don't know how you feel about thsaid things and, in some cases, don't know what apropriate in conjunction therewith and what isn't. So the moral of the story might be to not be too prudish, it can cause _BIG misunderstandings/unawareness of proper conduct etc. Sure that scene was uncomfortable for me a tad, but that is an example of how stuffy society neglected to teach people proper behavior, they just expect you to _know which often leads to things. Open talk is important. Anyways well written story from you and Simon and Kaylee are romantic. Riona |
GirlwithSword 12/6/09 . chapter 1Sweet! And so cute! Loved it! |
baobei 12/3/09 . chapter 1Man, I really liked this. Strange how I've read so much "where we just left the crew" fic, and yet this seemed so incredibly fresh. Well done, I say. Now you say, "There's more a-comin'!" Please? |
butterflydarlin 12/3/09 . chapter 1This. This is perfection. I just... yes. I'm trying to find the right words to describe why it works so, so well, but all I can really think to say is that it's very human and very straightforward and everyone feels very in-character and honest and right. |
Brown-in-the-Black 12/3/09 . chapter 1Spectacular! You have the characterizations down pat. Loved, River offering to "Help" Zoe (Got a fic of my own heading in that direction myself) Great job. |
