I don't honestly remember if I commented on this, the most recent of the wonderfully demented Omake.
I adore it.
One wonders why the Wizard didn't wreak horrid transformations on these goofs.
But Not ME! It was obvious to him (as to me) that nothing can outdo Nerima, so he likely just pounded them physically until such time as he could find a *proper* venting target.
I've seen a lot of Ranma and Harry Potter fics, but THIS is the best I've ever seen! Is there any chance at all that this be made into a real fic? PLEASE!
Sleepy Kitty 1/29/05 . chapter 37
-.- we miss you and wish you where righting again. I loved reading the stories about Grey and stuffs.
Ok, I'll give that link another try, given that fanfiction dot net seems to censor all links. It's w dot moreorless dot au dot com, in the case anyone is interested (and even this version isn't automatically omitted :\ )
Hmm, after briefly skimming my post again I see that it has some structural errors and that the link is missing. My apologies about that, I should obviously have re-read it. Hopefully it's possible to follow anyway. Here is the link btw:
I'm kind of disturbed by the effects of your ongoing crusade against Akane and various other characters, but not for the usual reasons so hear me out a bit. The people choosing only to see good traits in a character annoy me, since in essence it essentially glorifies evil by casually accepting this type of thinking as ok, regardless of the consequences or the soul-rot resulting from it, or just misdirect people to find a hollow explanation why it wasn't _really_ evil motivations regardless how thoroughly and this had been hammered in as the actual case. This is basically the problem I have with the Nabiki Relationship Archive's ongoing campaign to invent an entirely new character who only has the name in common with the original. On the other hand you seem just as determined to put down an enormous amount of work to only see the other end of the spectrum.
Now Akane definitely isn't a very nice person at all, but also not anywhere close to evil. More like suffering from uncontrollable mental pain, rage disorder, hysteria, and a raging inferiority complex leading to a compulsive need to exert herself to measure up to compensate while her overeagerness would usually lead to failure and cause a bad circle, etc. That is, not exactly rational, but rather emotional traits. You have to be in know exactly what you're doing, what it means etc but still coldly calculate, gleefully manipulate, wallow in sadistic spite and greed, have no limits whatsoever about the horrors you're willing to inflict upon the innocent, etc to truly qualify as pure evil, much in the Taro or Nabiki manner. Akane has plenty of bad traits, but is also self-sacrificing in life-or-death situations and has repeatedly shown genuine concern and a wish to help and exert herself (incompetence aside) throughout the series. She's neither the saint some people want to see, nor the incarnation of malevolence greater numbers see her as.
I'd be quite happy if you let her go and started chronicling the horrors of true evil instead, for example the various sadistic, manipulative, utterly irresponsible and self-concerned 'higher beings' you're fond of using in your stories. If you want to get rid of some excess anger use it by torturing that type and teaching the readers moral lessons along the way. This type are far more worthy of your attention (See this page for a good chronicle about real world heroes and villains: ).
I think you severely underestimate the sheer impact you've had on what now ultimately amounts to several million fanfiction readers worldwide. Your ongoing campaign, though completely unintended, seems to be on the verge of screwing up the comparative moral system of an entire generation of impressionable young readers/writers, who then write stories in the tens of thousands at , which are then read by millions... well you get the drift. It's kind of disturbing that these people would grow up regarding mentally ill and suffering people as worse than coldly calculating, spiteful psychopaths. I'd seriously very much appreciate if you used your considerable energy and obvious great ability to influence and make a strong impression on your audience to try to teach them about right and wrong and the working mechanics of true evil instead. It's definitely a much worthier legacy to leave the world and I think your own efforts would help greatly to stem the current trend.
All the best and I apologise about the rant, but after seeing such an overwhelming amount of uniform consent about these matters in both the mindset and philosophy of stories and enthusiasts alike I'm beginning to grow seriously worried about a new generation of thinkers who embrace psychotic manipulations as an ideal, while the mentally ill are the plague of the world, which ill rhymes with the truer problems of the world at large. :(
Everytime I read another one of your Omakes, I have to wonder how I could ever hope to become as good as you.
Each Omake is well-written, intelligent, and fairly well-reasoned. However, I can't help but wonder this one point: Have you ever considered changing Genma into something OTHER than a Panda?
Panda is too common. I like the idea of making him into something seemingly harmless like a bunny rabbit and surprising the hell out of everyone when he can still bully Ranma into going to the Tendos.
Or hell, make him into a helpless rabbit and have Ranma give him the boot. It'd been interested to see how he'd handle wandering around on his own.
Very amusing. But I have to point out that Kyle Katarn wasn't a jedi, at least, not while yoda was still alive.

The last omake would really make a good crossover story. For example, due to the chaos factor, the senshi might just meet someone, like Ranma or something like that.
