Well I'll say your sure captured Xander's persona perfectly with this fic, awesomely done too, the ending was perfect, and the drama from begining to last kept me reading, kept my attention so well I lost track of time.

Overall very well written and engaging, by the end I would've been fine either way you went as far as Buffy's death and a Xander/Faith relationship goes (and by extension, a Buffy/Faith relationship). Not because I didn't care, but because it was not an obvious choice. So good job on that. Though just for the record, comic book deaths in general still annoy me.

I think Xander came of as a bit meek, I suppose, compared to Faith. Nothing wrong with a bit of touchy-feely, but in such a long story, I find it's generally good to vary it a bit. I would've liked his pain to be explored a bit more, instead I was left with an impression that the entire story was a solid block of first person sympathy for Faith. It makes Xander look good, but it's balancing on the edge of being too good (which generally also leads in to "boring" territory).

Also, don't underestimate the power of comic relief, even in a piece like this. You'll need to be more subtle certainly, but I think that cutting it out almost entirely is bad for the story overall. Cynical, sarcastic or ironic style generally works well.

Finally, I think it could've been better to milk the whole uncertain feelings issue a bit more. Unrequited love may be old and a bit cliché, but it's popular for a reason. It'd also have provided Xander's internal monologue with another aspect to explore. Maybe a bit of resentment even, to balance the whole good Samaritan theme.

So, good job overall. It lacked a bit of balance which could've made it better IMO, but I enjoyed it. I've recently drifted more towards Faith/Xander stories in general, so I'd certainly be interested if you write more, especially in a more everyday setting.

Not gonna lie ... when I saw this was the last chapter I actually got kind of upset. :( Also, though I said it before, this is THE ONLY fic I've ever read where I loved it even though Buffy died and stayed dead. Awesome read, amazing journey.

HOLY CRAP. I'm so glad Xander stopped Willow! His moub saved he world again! And trust me that's never somehing I thought I'd say! This is legit one of the only fics, maybe the only, where I would be okay with Buffy staying dead. I'm unbelievably tired so the review isn't that long, but I didn't wanna wait to review.
