What Ranma needs to realize is that what women say they want, isn't what they really want. Akane says she wants to fight Ranma 'for real'. What she really wants is to hit Ranma. If Ranma fought her 'for real' she'd be down in seconds. Akane knows this, even if she won't admit it to herself.

Ranma has made his choice to grow up. But unless Akane is willing to do so as well, Ranma is in for a world of dissappointment.
