TrisakAminawn 4/27/09 . chapter 1Hurrah! Sandman! I've been wanting to do something with Vash and Knives, and Cain and Abel, since I read Byron's /Cain/, but not this Cain and Abel...Abel's a pretty awful person to get advice on dealing with psychotic brothers from, isn't he? Given that he lives in fear and lets his brother kill him over and over and over again? I really hope Knives doesn't kill everyone when he wakes up, but having a positive attitude might be enough to allow Vash to stop him, I suppose.
Still, it was really great. You're a good describer. Abel's dialogue and characterization were really great, too. The part where he was telling his story was definitely the least moving part of the whole deal, though. The language seemed a little overplayed, and took too long for a story whose end we already know, especially after he told it to Daniel in a child's terms...how Vash even recognized it as the First Murder story the way he told it, I don't know, unless it was just the fact that the man telling him was named 'Abel' and said 'we.'
How was their job with Vash wrapped up, exactly? Did they report him dead? Hah, I can just see it: Vash the Stampede is dead, though we're traveling around the Outer, doing insurance work, with a blond doofus who packs a huge gun in his red coat, and his comatose brother...who? Why, Milly's cousin, uh, Hash. He used to be a fry cook, but he's decided to travel around with us...what, pay him? What for? He's useless... |
the old fart 11/27/03 . chapter 1more trigun please! |
Lirillith 1/25/02 . chapter 1When I read the summary, my first thought was of Eve, since she looks a bit like Rem in the hands of some artists. Though that might just be me. Abel came as a bit of a surprise, since I'm slow, but obviously the parallel works. Wonderful stuff. It's rare, and kind of nice, to see Vash/Meryl hints from Vash's point of view. |
Kiri 1/23/02 . chapter 1Mm, yummy... I've never actually read much Sandman (a few stolen glimpses of the last book), but you pull it off well enough that it really doesn't matter. You wrote Vash amazingly. Many cookies for you, my dear. _ |
Alyson Metallium 1/23/02 . chapter 1WOWOOOOOO! Great fic, wonderful portrayl of the Sandman characters and Trigun characters! Not to mention I adored the VashxMeryl hintage. *wide happy grin* I would love for you to continue this thread, but at the same time this fic has a wonderful completed feel to it, as well. Nice job! |
Skyrocket 1/23/02 . chapter 1You found a good parallel between Trigun and Sandman. Vash and Able's talk was very interesting and really did say something about Vash's character. Good job. |
Irena K 1/22/02 . chapter 1Y'know, it's funny how well Sandman fits into the Trigun universe. Excellent little study and kudos for using Abel, who doesn't get so much in the way of fanfic (at least that I've seen). Very nnicely done. |
Jaina 1/22/02 . chapter 1I've said it before and I'll say it again-this story rocks. Superb writing and characterization, and some real insight into Vash's character. And even though I'm only vaguely familiar with Sandman, I enjoyed Vash's talk with Abel immensely. Kudos to you, Grey. And next time, throw in some smoochies, wouldja? |
