Wow. Thank you. My heart always ached for the other three companions from the Quest; I always suspected that they didn't brush off Frodo's departure quite so lightly as they would have liked us to believe. You've perfectly captured the way I think it must have been for them. I especially like Pippin's ambiguity about whether Frodo really knew what he was doing, and whether it really was for the best. Pippin wants to believe it, and yet...
