Good story. I liked how they both refused to openly answer each other's question at the end. The implied answers are much better. :)

She thought about all the answers she could give and how he would see through them all. She wondered when she had become so comfortable playing his games that she let him manipulate her with eyes wide open. “Why did you come here?”

He smiled at her deflection. He had no answer to give either, at least not one he could say aloud anyway.

That made me melt... Not overtly romantic but just enough to be canon. I sure hope we get a moment like this on the show :)

Oh, I love it! I think this could become a favorite of mine (gotta read it again when I'm less sleep deprived. So very sweet and in character, hope you wrote/write more like this one...

Aw this was really sweet!

I only have seen the promos and the ending scene and the begining until "the mentalist" appears on screen(The start up titles or something) cause it wont begin till april over here! but can I ask a question, it was janes father who persuaded him to become a physhic/mentalist was it?

I liked how she knew he was playing her but she went along with it anyway. I could so see that happening in the show. Good Job!

that was very cute. a true representation of their current relationship, especially when you talk about how she wonders about him manipulating her "with eyes wide open", it seems to be what's going on lately, but I also feel like in this episode one shot, Jane redeems a little of his arrogance and lack of gratitude by not only coming to her but also opening up just a little bit. I really enjoyed reading this, it's one of the most honest examples of their relationship: not quite romantic, but not platonic either :)
