An update! It's lovely. Beautifully written, as always. Poor Jim, of course. He's always being tortured, mentally, physically, or emotionally. Generally, more of a combination of all three. What better way to show their friendship?

There's one more part, right? The one time he doesn't manage to get off on his own. I'm looking forward to reading what happened that prevents him from stepping off the Transporter Pad of his own accord.

Guilt-ridden, caring friends. That's the true gift. Jim is so lucky to have such good friends. Friends he can always trust. I wonder what happened, to cause them to all go their separate ways at the end of TOS. The next thing we know, Jim is Admiral, McCoy is retired (for a while, anyway), and Spock is trying to finish Kolinahr. Something must have happened, to split up the Big Three so cleanly, each in a world that no other is in. Whatever it is, it can't have been pretty.

Anyways, as always, I eagerly await the next - and, in this case, last - part of this five-and-one!

An excellent epilogue to one of the best ST:TOS episodes :)

I love this...all of this, so much. Jim is a marvellous character to explore - so are all of them, but especially him. Are you planning to finish this fic? Because I sure hope so :)

Very nice. My favorite is probably the one where Kirk was intoxicated. That was quite funny, especially since he kept insisting that he wasn't. This one is more deep and saddening, but it's still very well written. I'm looking forward to the next one!

this reminds me of that first chapter... ambiguous... deliberately so? it's quite sad :( very trek in the subject... and yeah, spock only shows 'emotion' (if you can call him shoving mccoy down emotion XD) when protecting his shipmates... especially his friends.

KCS, this was an emotional story, but a beautiful one. Thank you for sharing it.
