This simultaneously made me want to give Light a hug and punch him in the face. In other words, excellent work getting inside our favourite mass murderer's over-inflated head.

I think it explains very well how muted Light's emotional response are in the second arc (of course he caused most of the horrible stuff happening to him and people around him, but still). Light truly has a remarkable gift for ruthless self-control (and self-deception).
