I came across this story by googling 'Recommended Naruto fics', and I wasn't disappointed. Many people commented that you did a better job than Kishimoto, and I'd say you sure took the skeleton he offered and filled it out very well. The writing style was good and easy to follow, but what I liked most was the effort you put into embedding canon events! Brilliant how everything, every little detail fell into place! And it's highly commendable that you chose to write from Minato's POV - and stuck to it. This was a Minato story as much as MinaKushi, and I'm glad you explored his faults (kind of a goody two-shoes, a bit gullible and dull sometimes...), since in the canon he's a bit too perfect. And what is especially great is that you managed to draw Kushina's character so well, based only on how others saw her. Also, the story wasn't rushed, and the chapters were nice and loooong. The only things that weren't to my taste are that some of the minor characters were OOC (I really don't think Inoichi's a pervert), and the humor (which was really great and had me chuckling non stop) was misplaced at times. You would sometimes use humor when the situation called for serious and grave, and for me it felt like you were undermining the tone of your story. Just my opinion, and it won't stop me from faving, cause 'The Girl from Whirlpool' was a great find. :)
So... How about an update?

I really like the last 5 lines! "It's not staying is it?" says sooooo much it just makes me laugh.

Truth to be told, this is the second Naruto fanfic I've read in earnest, since I wasn't all too sure about Naruto fics. But then I found this story! I'll have you know that I stayed up reading as many chapters as I could before I had to force myself to turn off my computer.

I really like this fic! Too bad I have to wait like everyone else for the next chapter though... I had two fun days of just reading and pressing the next button over and over again about 30 times (Because I reread some chapters XD)
Very well written and awesome :) The words seem to be just flowing nonstop! There were so many times I just had to laugh at the most random things that were added, or just at how well it was woven into the dialogue.
Too bad it looks like this hasn't been updated since 2011... IT DOESN'T SEEM HALF DONE EITHER! :O

I chuckled at the Sakumo/Minato interaction in this one. X-D

I chuckled at Kushina and Minato engaging in the "my sensei vs. your sensei" debate, and the lengths they went to in order to settle it. I imagine the allure of a masked, talented 23 year old "reformed bandit-sensei" to Kushina would have been great, lol. X-D

how lovely chapter! need a week to read all chapters because english isnt my native language, so I tried hard to understand. this story makes me loves young minakushi more. thank you for the story. hope you can update soon. (sorry if my review makes you little didn't understand XD)

I just read this for 24 hours straight, got to this chapter, and realized to my horror that it wasn't finished.

Excellent grammar, spelling and flow. I love your writing style so much I wish I had it. One of the stories with the best character developments in my opinion.

However, what I really love about this story is that when I'm reading it, it seems as if you're simply narrating what you see in your eyes. I don't feel like you're forcing down their throats what to feel/do when confronted with a certain circumstance because the dialogue, the characters they interact with, the situation and the like work so well together.

Oh, and this, I really like this line: "What kind of father would turn his own child into a monster?" Oh damn, that burned.

Overall, one of the best fics I've read. Yeah, and even if I said earlier that I wish you'd continue this, I won't really end up reading all the chapters anyway, since I get all emotional when it comes to the tragic end of the Namikaze-Uzumaki family (and I think I'm going to cry if you write about the ending, especially when you've portrayed Minato and Kushina so so so wonderfully). xD
