Wow ... I really liked this. Your characterization of Dawn and Spike was excellent, as was your dialogue. I've been really missing their interactions in the show lately, so it was great to get to see them together. I thought the scene you wrote between them was very believable, and very poignant ... and done so in-character that it felt almost like a scene from the show.

I hope you'll consider writing a sequel, because I'd like to see what Spike decides to do differently as a result of this conversation.

I like this one. The dynamic between Spike and Dawn is very sweet (and *why* hasn't he been around for his Little Bit more lately), and it's certainly fairer to Buffy than a lot of fic that's coming out lately. Good work!
