Ah Now this is a breath of fresh air. I am quite surprised at the scarcity of its reviews, because I would like to call some attention to this work, myself. To begin with, your author introduction was to the point and didn't have the twittering, nattering that can be a bit bone-weary.

But the actual piece itself? From an artistic point of view it was filling, including some clever puns ("ritual" - I saw what you did there Or "No dice" - ah you clever clever thing) and a touching first person introspective that didn't have Yugi collapsing back on either misery, or a plot twist, but acknowledged his loss. You also aimed for a somewhat realistic future events, not too much detail, Kaiba seemed quite in character to me which can be a tricky feat given his mercurial nature. Then the accuracy of describing loss, "I miss having him around. I miss hearing him laugh. Most importantly, I miss the way he made me feel." deserves to be quoted indeed.

But what really catches this fiction is the part straight afterwards, the memory. It really captures the jarring emotional feel of a confession, especially one in this kind of situation. The small details such as the fingertips. The bitter-sweetness of the hug (first and last, ach, you're tugging on those heartstrings). Yes, that scene is written powerfully, and movingly, and I have yet to close the fiction in my browser window.

Yours is a charming story, you should be very proud.
