Your story could use some more descriptive detail-the places where the story happens, the feelings of the characters, whatever.

Also, I'm not entirely sure Legolas would make such an obvious mistake...

You should probably get yourself a beta... someone who can edit your stories for grammar, style, plot holes, whatever.
