Loved the story and how you integrated all of the hawaian elements into the plot, along with the gou'ald and how you made us really care about these people. It read almost like an episode (excluding the shippy parts, it did!) and you didn't make everything too easy for them :)

More time on my hands enabled me to read your story from start to finish, a most excellent way to spend an afternoon, and needless to stay it was a very good read indeed. I do so love your longer stories, love the short ones too of course, but the longer ones fill a lazy afternoon brilliantly. Thanks, and I see there is a sequel...nice! I don't know if I reviewed this story AkamaiMom, but this was a really good adventurous Carter whump. I was hoping you might be working on another Carter whump with adventures and humor which you are so good at.

All in all a good tale. A most enjoyable adventure, a decidedly fun piece of non-crap if I do say so myself ;)

I enjoyed the action, the adventure, the subtle humore, and the the bits of masterfully woven culture and myth. I've run across Nohea/Pele before, but there's so much room in the univers, and I rather liked the bit earlier in the fic, where the villagers were arguing with Jack about Sam being Pele, and Teal'c settled it by saying "does it really matter?"

Anyway, I would have loved a more teamy goodness scene in the end, but I'm sure your shippy fans loved the softly tender J/S private moment. Me? I'm happily landbound. Cabins make me claustraphobic anyway. Enjoy your voyage, and happy writing.

Nice suspenseful scene. Even I, the squicky non shipper person could appreciate the scene of Jack leaning out of Sam to shoot the bastardo gao'uld jerk. Fitting chapter title.

Loved this line: She knew that others found her to be beautiful—although she honestly didn't see it. She had looked at herself in the mirror often enough to see the basics—the blue eyes, inherited from her mother, the wide line of her forehead and the strong jaw. She knew that her dates had often concentrated on things south of her chin more than what was above her eyebrows—and really she couldn't blame them. She knew that her tendency to prattle on about all things scientific caused most guys to glaze over like a Sunday ham. And some had drooled.

Oh! how nice of you to give Sam a day at the spa after her rough few days. Organic shampoo, sand scrub, coconut oil massage, and even a complimentary robe... She must feel oh so positively feminine! Now on to see what goes wrong with the perfect plan!

I liked the banter between Jack and Daniel. I don't think Carte would have minded them going through her stuff either, but I understand why they wouldn't :P The guys' encounter with the village men equally good, i like the suspense building up. Where's the older men... found them... lol.
