Just so you know- I *LOVE* this fanfiction ! I read it when I started Discworld and I keep coming back to it whenever I feel depressed. It's quite adorable, and a bit funny, and so well-written ! You catched the characters' personalities perfectly, it really takes me back to my first reading of Guards ! And Sam/Sybil is so rare, I'm glad you're one of the few autors writing about them :)

Great job, you wrote drunk Sam really well. I liked the pickle fork! And Sybil has to be one of my favourite characters, you really do her justice.

this was so sweet and so Pterry-ish! I always missed the story of how they ended up together! There definitely wasn't enough detail in the books.

I'm reading your back catalogue... not surprisingly, I loved this one too. Not sure whether Fred would ever be quite that coherent, but part from that... ace.

I absolutely adored this story. Hilarious inner monologue for Vimes, and you had Lady Sybil down pat. So many great, Pratchett-worthy lines: "Breeding. That was it. Breeding. And that was exactly the wrong word for you to think of... Breeding is usually preceded by Thoughts... Although, maybe people that rich hire other people to have Thoughts for them." and "Could you say the word 'girlfriend' with a straight face when you were over forty?" And Vimes having the argument with himself about kissing Sybil, even as he is in the process of kissing her - the whole filthy pervert thing. And it all leads to his determination to (try) to give up drinking. Wonderfully written, witty and clever, and still with a heart. Bravo!

Squee! That was absulutly lovely! You got the characters down, pat, I felt like I was reading a missing chapter from one of the actual books! Great job, I absulutly loved it!

So aww and squee and argh! I'm sorry, that's not very coherent, it was a great story! You've captured Vimes' voice perfectly, his inner monolouge was fantastic, and you managed to make it so Discworldy and well-plotted and beautiful And a great ending, yes.
