I really think I could see this happening in The Patakis, especially in the final episode so everything could be wrapped up. First of all, I would still like to think that Arnold moved away with his parents to San Lorenzo because that place is very special to them, and he wants to go all because he wants to be with them and needs to be with them. Maybe he even moved before high school started and has been away for a couple of years when the series would have started with Helga being fifteen. (Oh I wish I could have seen a teenaged Helga! She'd be so cool!)

Secondly, and while I said this before, I'll say it again. I really do think a break-up would be good for Arnold and Helga because they both need to spend time apart and realize there are other people out in the world and should try to be with someone. They were just kids when they first got together and were still kids when they split. Now as teenagers, they have grown up and matured ever further and probably have tried to see other people. But Arnold and Helga are each one in a million and probably think that there is no one else like them in the world. Even if they broke up, they would never stop loving each other. And I believe how Arnold says he broke up with her because he still loves her, but that they need to do what's right and give each other some time and space apart. So in the end, they would come to terms with the fact that they don't want or need anyone but each other. And that's what else a break up can do for them. It will help them to further realize that they are truly made for each other, then they would never break up again.

So overall, I could definitely see this happening in the show and I think it would need the proper conclusion of them getting back together. And I think you captured their characters very well, which helps it make sense even more. Awesome job, and take that bonus chapter into consideration. If you still have it in mind, I'd like to hear it.

i dont know i think that arnold would not have time in the jungle movie to tell helga how he really feels specially because they are just 10 years old and arnold is ganna stay with his parents in San Lorenzo. in other chats with graig barrett/ the creator of arnold said that he planned to make a episode where helga go to San Lorezo to find Arnold but that was going to be the end.
