I just read this over at your site my friend cleo sent me a link and bugged me 'til i read it. And I must say it was very good (even if i didnt know itwas fanfiction 'til chapter 7.) Question though. Is there going to be another chapter? Thanks for a great story.

Lovely! I read BWB off your own site some while ago, and've been meaning to comment, so as I've got the time right now I'll do it.
I read "Four Minutes" first, but "Boys Will Be" really casts some aspects (particularly the Allen-Dryden interactions) in a new light. Am looking forward to the projected ninth chapter of BWB (is it still in the pipeline?). Especially if we get to see some Eries/Allen/Gadeth, in whatever rating you care to give it us.
The silly parts are great fun, the sad parts really hurt, and the illos are wonderful. Well done!

Do you know how irritatingly brilliant you are? It's been a long time since I took a look at this story because my life has been a bit strange for about a year, so when I finally came home and found that it was complete I thought I'd hear it out even though I'd considered it doomed to implausibility - but you brought it round and finished it with a flourish and it *all works*.

I'm a huge fan of yours; every time I feel like reading Escaflowne fanfiction, I end up reading yours! I think the illustrations are marvellous and even though I prefer reading yaoi/shounen-ai, I've really enjoyed everything you've written so far.
The one thing that I find a pity is that after the events of Boys Be and then Four Minutes, Dryden and Allen never made up and became friends again (hint hint), so (hint hint) if you ever feel like writing a, erm, trilogy for the Four Minutes timeline (hint hint) please do write that in! (hint hint) ^_^ Shameless, aren't I?

What a way to end/begin a story! On to the sequel! I'd really have liked for Allen to have gotten squished by oh, say a meteorite, but then he couldn't have been in Four Minutes, and that would have been awful. So sad. Poor Dryden, trying to be a nice guy and good friend and getting stabbed in the back and kicked in the ---- for it. Allen's so messed up right now (good choice just to let us see him from the outside.) And poor Eries though I recall her and Grava becoming closer in Four Minutes (I'll have to go reread it now!)

Now that 'Boys' has reached in intermission of sorts, I went back and read the whole thing. Originally, I thought Eries' revelation was a bit jarring but there are hints in how she addresses Aston in the earlier chapters that suggest her relationship with him wasn't what it should be. Does something happen between them in the intervening years though, because I seem to remember she genuinely grieved over his death in 'Four Minutes'. Perhaps I'll have to read that again to see how the two stories blend. Dryden's decision to not let his change in fortune drag him down and his attempt to reconcile with Allen certainly echo the resolve with which he courted Millerna. And Allen? I thought the decision to limit his POV in this last chapter was a great reflection of the complete confusion he feels. He's really not at a point to be able to offer his perspective (at least an honest, intuitive one) because as Dryden so astutely pointed out, he *doesn't* know his heart. Hopefully, the tag-team of Eries and Gaddes can help him figure it out when you resume. ^_^

Wah!That was wonderful. E's telling of her relationship w/ Aston was reminscent of Neko-hime. We had thought that , from her rxn to Aston's death in 4 Minutes, that she had had it good with the king--guess not. But we loved how she pulled herself from all the abuse to become a really strong character.

hS:Will someone pls hit Allen over the head with a huge mallet now? boys can be such dopes sometimes...

I loved it! I absolutely love it! As always your artwork is just the best, adds that perfect extra touch to make an already great story even better. It's so good! This chapter was so intense and wraught with emotion (must be something twisted in my brain, but I just love seeing everything fall apart)
Poor Dryden I feel so sorry for him, I guess knowing that everything turns out for him and Millerna makes it easier to enjoy the fun now. BTW, I'm sorry Four Minutes got removed from ff.net, but since you got the picture version at your site I guess it's only ff.nets loss. It was, still is and always will be one of my favorite ficcies!

I had no idea that I had so much catching up to do! I can see how Boys will be Boys is going to tie in with your other Escaflowne fic, but I had no clue that this was how everything came together! I feel horrible for Dryden and Allen! I love this fic! You've got to post a "chapter" that tells when your next fic is coming up. I remember you writing that you were considering a final Escaflowne fic that ties up all of the first two. Thanks!
