I remember reading this when it first came out, so it's kind of amazing how it's only now that I've thought to actually review.

I have to admit, I do love this fic. It's a great ending to the canon, and I always end up envious at how you can write short fics and I find writing short things really hard (usually because I have too much to say). I know that the Ohba and Obata team had always planned (more or less) to end this manga with L's death before editors twisted their arms and forced them to continue with Mello and Near, so in actual fact, I can't help but feel that if it had ended witb L's death, then this fic would be a direct 'what if L won' fic, if that makes any sense.

Since this came out, I too have done a 'what if L won' fic this one inspired by that 'Chicago' musical, known as 'Fame Less Than Infamy'. You can read it if you're not too busy with work and GiaC chapter 41, and if you do read it, please leave a review - it's gonna get a second chapter in due time, and a prequel of sorts, and I'd love your thoughts on it as it is.

Always wanted to see a careless emotionless L who 'kidnaps' Light back to England. Away from his family and father despite all the lack of evidence. L has a hunch and he doesn't much care if he's wrong or not.

Always wanted to see a story where Light connects with the others orphans at Wammy's.

Sorry for pushing ideas on you, but just need to spread my wild thoughts:D And I just want to see a Light who is Kira (though perhaps manipulated) that ends up as a motherish figure to the lonesome orphans.

Wow! That was good.

It is the most REALISTIC Death Note Fanfic I have ever read. That is what real life is like, unfortunately. This contrasts almost everything covered in emotional-button issues around the world.

You know, I have often thought about Light's execution being an alternate ending to Death Note; so I'm glad someone actually wrote it! I'd have liked to see some kind of regret on Ryuzaaki's part, apart from the fact that he'll never see such a great opponent again - but I guess this is more realistic. The same for Light's last great move. They rivalled when they were in life, after all, and they will continue so until one of 'em's death. Sadly enough.

Anyway, great writing and great story; the only critique on my part were the punctuation mistakes. Hope to see more!

I believe you just made me love Light all the more. :) This should have been the finale to the series. It feels far more... Worthy of the two geniuses, honestly, rather than have them both die secluded, quick deaths. But maybe that was done for the irony. *shrugs*

Anyways, I love your interpretation of L. I love that he adopted his little habits to fit his made up persona. And I love that Light's legacy for outsmarting the best three detectives in the world (all of the L, of course) still lives on. XD

Wow. This should have been canon's grand finale...superb writing as always.

I like that L's slump and walk is all part of the Ryuuzaki persona he fabricated and the whole "40 percent increase in deduction" thing was a lie-L's a big liar.

This one-shot is definitely on my top list of greatest DN fics out there. Dolorously exquisite.

This is brilliantly deranged. Light has his revenge from beyond the grave! Scary. Of course, he faced his death with more fortitude than I could have ever predicted.

I like this better then Canon but for me it's looks like the creators ended Light life like that to show that evil never wins and how stupid and childish light really was And they killed L for a plot twist & i don't think that Ryuuku would let Kira die like that

The Kira cult in the one-shot is somehow similar to you're vision of Light's victory from the grave

But all that aside i think you're short gives more justice to both of those characters in my opinion

I love this little one-shot(?). All the parts where L is seeing Light in particular show some great imagery. It's a little unclear to me still exactly when L decided to execute Light, but the story is so compelling that it doesn't really matter. Poor L. Oh and I love the reactions of the media when Light finally says something before he's executed. I feel like if this really happened, people'd be shocked to find out it was Light, y'know? Well, nice little story, although it pains me to have to watch Light die in any story, but you did a good job with it. CONTINUE TO WRITE.

You are one of my absolute favorite authors, and I am so glad to read another of your stories! I would like to say that your way of writing that inner musings, monolouges and acts that is typical for the characters written is almost perfect, and that is why I love this little story made by you :D The feeling of being there and the depth to L is just lovely.

I'm also a student and it's taking it's toll on my inspiration, but I just hope you won't give up on writing because you are talented and your writing style is captivating.

A really good work, although I so would've liked to see the down fall in L's physological health, I suppose it was just fine with ending it at the point you did.

... But I really, really had wanted to see L slowly breaking down... ;D
