Reviews for What Fates Impose

Always leave them wanting more! Thank you, Thank you for a great story! I would have continued reading but the words ran out. I guess it had to end up somewhere but I will miss it. The details, the character growth, the story...Thank you again.

It has always been a great read. Entertaining, always. Brava, Frea! Brava!

Thank you.

Wow, I feel like leaving you a review is a meagre way of conveying my appreciation. I've been following this story for two years and seeing it comes to completion fills me with a touch of sadness but still, this story was consistently amazing.

So thank you for all these wonderful moments your writing brought me, your story will eternally remain in the pantheon of fanfiction for me! Hopefully you'll continue to write other stories, I'll definitely be there if that is the case.

Seriously, much love for you Frea!

AWWWGH! It's OVER. This wonderful, wonderful epic is OVER. SAD. But, like I said, wonderful.

And that's a wrap on the most awesome story I've read on this site, which are quite a lot. I just wanted to say thank you Frea for sharing this with us, for finishing it the way it deserved, even tough it must have been really tiring and frustrating sometimes, I only started reading Fates this January so I don't completely understand what this ride has been since you started it, but it was great for me, so thank you.

You're crazy talented and I wish you the best of luck in your future projects.

Let me send you one big virtual hug from Argentina and when there's any original work from you out there let us know, I'd like to read it :)

'What Fates Impose' and its satellite stories (all of which I've read) make up one of my favorite universes in fan fiction. I can't even imagine the amount of the time and energy (and devotion) required to undertake such an endeavor. I've spent hours and hours reading and enjoying your stories, so thank you for taking me on such an epic adventure.

Congratulations on completing the best fic in the fandom.

However, these last half dozen or so chapters just made more questions than answers, and the pacing seemed more like they were establishing a climax, rather than a denouement. Like the whole thing with Fulcrum clearly showing themselves to be an even bigger threat, with the whole assassinating the head of the CIA and a major project leading to chuck and the gang laying low...and then nothing happens with them.

Maybe it's just that I don't care a single whit about all that relationShipping, but there was no Catharsis from these final chapters, just a bunch of new plot points which are ultimately left dangling and to never be resolved.

I still liked the story, it just kinda seemed (IMO) to go out with a whimper rather than a bang.

Thank you for sharing this amazing story. I'm so sad it's over but I'm looking forward to anything else you write.

Loved it. What a 68 chapter ride. Didn't review much, because I really didn't think there was anything constructive I could have said beyond Keep Calm and Carry on, but here we are at the end and you absolutely delivered.

This fic and your stories are one of the only reasons I still pay attention to this archive.

One question though. There's no sequel planned is there? Can't really tell if your planning one, or if your just leaving the ending open?

Great way to end it, Frea. Open with room for their adventures. Here's hoping the meet with Orion goes well for them, they're able to remove Lincoln, and go on to have that life Chuck dreamed of, all while Sarah keeps being Sarah. :)

Honestly, I don't know how to feel about it all being over. On the one hand, I'm relieved.. because Chuck and Sarah are happy, together, and in one piece, but on the other hand.. it's o.v.e.r. I guess no matter what, I knew it'd be sad even if it was a happy ending.

I'm glad I got to take the journey with you and the other readers, though, even if I joined the story a bit later on than others.

Thanks for this, for continuing with such passion as a writer, and powering through those who doubted your talents. :D Congrats on finishing this wonderful story! Take care, and see you in twitterland.

I will say something that was already said by some of the reviewers, but thank you for sharing this story, thank you (and congratulations) for finishing it, and maybe I should say thanks also to Phil Klemmer, for writing Mask, if this is the outcome... :)

Congratulations for your writing, even if English is (obviously) not my first language, which made the read sometimes difficult, but not less interesting. And congratulations because you made much more than an AU, but created a palimpsest* that could stand on its own legs, so to speak, very well: I think that I am not the only one that loves Fates' Sarah even more than canon's Sarah.

P.S. besides the Riviera, where I live, my sister lives in Venice. Yes, we are a lucky family... ;)

*(FYI, I knew the word, I only googled the translation...)

Frea - Ignore all the less than stellar reviews. I read. A lot. And you are one of the most entertaining and gifted storytellers I've had the great gift of handing my attention over to. You should feel a deep and abiding sense that your time dreaming, day-dreaming, writing and re-writing this epic tale has been time incredibly well spent. You said things in this story that I've always believed and never quite knew how to say. You made me rediscover feelings and emotions that I wasn't sure how to find my way back to. You created a world that I often wanted to live in more than my own. You've done all that and more, and not just for me, but for the countless other readers who've been fortunate enough to stumble onto Fates. If you ever do write that original novel and get it published, please let us know on your blog or Twitter or something. I wouldn't want to miss it for anything. Thank you. - jwr

You're trying to make me cry from happiness, aren't you? GAH.

The title has made me swoon. I have never swooned over a title before.

The things this story does to me!

I want to put you and keep you in my pocket.

You're a beautiful person. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! If I could, I'd be filling your pool with right at this moment. Wonder if that's good for your skin? Hmm...

You're aces, and I can't wait to enjoy more of your writing, like I've enjoyed this and all the others. Follow your dreams!

I feel like my heart is overflowing with Charah goodness right now! They're wonderful and cute and is that a rainbow?

Oooo, Orion. Papa B!

I heart the bathroom scene. Even with all the wonderful C/S overflowing in this chapter, that scene, by far, is my favorite. So many things were said and not said, but told. (or is it shown?) I loved how many things were tied in here and everything seemed to just fit and settle and now it's all engraved in my little shipping heart. Anyway, you done good, girl, again!

I will miss Fates!Casey.

I will miss Fates!Chuck.

I will miss Fates!Sarah.

I will miss this story. Wail.

SO VERY GOOD, Frea. I'm happy for you! Yay! Go you! All I can say is thank you for sharing, really. YOu are one generous, MBO. What a classy lady!

Congratulations on finishing this fantastic story. A lesser writer would have thrown in the towel a long time ago. You persevered. You took the slings and arrows and kept on going and YOU DID IT! Thank you for sharing your God given talents with us: your vision, your ability to tell a story, your way with words, your humor, your ability to make us feel so connected to these characters that we have such visceral, emotional reactions to them. Thank you for generously giving your time to us.

You have written the perfect ending. Our favorite characters will continue their lives, their story, their adventures, just like we all do in real life, not knowing what comes next. No story is ever really over, even if the words on the page no longer come. The thing we know, though, is that whatever comes Chuck and Sarah's way they will face it together. To be able to go through the difficulties they went through and come out the other side together-they’re like forged steel. The fire, the pounding, only makes them stronger.

It has been an honor, a pleasure and a privilege to ride in that sidecar and cheer you on. I draw the line at waving pom poms, though.

I know whatever new stories you have to tell, they will be fantastic and I can’t wait to read them.
