After working all weekend with terminally ill patients, I really need something to escape into. This story was such a sweet surprise. Future child of a certain couple of special agents, perhaps? And I loved the image of Ziva's hand on Tony's chest, counting his heartbeats, as he layed his own hand atop hers. Lovely. Thanks, this story was just what I needed.

A very touching story but I groan at Tony going in head first without back-up and coming out second best. Poor man is going to get his butt kicked from DC to LA and back again. And that'd be from not only Gibbs but Ziva :) Nice interaction between Tony and Lizbeth; the little touches really reflect that of a young child.

Glad you noted that this was not a ghost story, because with the genre listed as supernatural, that would have been my first guess. So maybe this is his subconscious doing a little wishful thinking? Nice to see even in his altered state, he knows Gibbs and Ziva will be there for him.

What the heart wishes for - even if it doesn't know it - is the way I interpret this.

It warmed MY heart, that's for sure.
