Ah, this chapter fits right in with my mood today. I'm glad Hoshi has friends who support her, although it's still difficult to accept Incidents as they are. And it's also good to know people in high places :) I'm glad Hoshi is getting that second chance.

Sorry to hear things aren't going so well for you. I hope that writing gives you a bit of time out for something enjoyable. I'm certainly enjoying reading. I like the way you've got a nice little circle of friends around Hoshi. Her cousin, Archer, AG and Erika. I also like the dynamics you've got going inside the group. You can see AG and Archer competing with each other in and friendly way. And I like the mention of the Archer/Hernandez relationship. I think I know who Starfleet's going to pick as their liason on the project. :) I also can't wait for the description of the floating poker game that caused Hoshi to get thrown out of Starfleet.

Sad moment for Hoshi, that confrontation with her mother, but I guess they had it coming. And yes, she does seem to have the stubborness from her mother. I liked it how her friends rallied around her and helped her out of her dark thoughts.

I like the rebel in Hoshi. I can't say that I blame her. She needs to experience more than just the box her parents are trying to stick her in, but her cousin is right that she needs to explore with caution. Interesting stuff.
