This is so lovely, and the perfect therapy following "Girl in the Fireplace." I've just started watching Doctor Who (shamefully) and had expected to just hurry through the Ninth Doctor to get to David Tennant, and so I was surprised at how much I loved the Ninth and how much I mourned the regeneration. I really love the way your story doesn't pretend that the incarnations of the Doctor are somehow the same brain or consciousness, just in a new human shell-you respect them as individuals.
