You gave a beautiful glimpse deeper into Tony and Ziva's relationship that I have yet to see done as cleanly and true to form as you've managed here. I love serious Tony. It's a facet of him that is too often overdone or done horribly wrong in fanfiction, and you've captured it nicely in the context of who he is as a man, away from the "goofball" or "moviephile" or "flirt" labels that too often take over and muscle past the rest of his character. He *has* been pulled and pushed so far by Ziva, and the fact that you let him be not only frustrated by her reaction but at the same time accepting that this is her way of making sense of their relationship speaks volumes about the insight you have into the recesses of Tony and Ziva's characters. The fact that you had him notice and internalize the gradual changes in her new apartment just shone to me. It's a really nice parallel to the idea of her life in America and with the team getting back to normal - or as normal as it can get for Ziva, and I love that your Tony realizes it, too.

Also, your vulnerable Ziva really worked for me. I have gotten into such a habit of immediately clicking out of any fanfic that has Ziva crying because it is just SO glaringly un-Ziva, but the words you used and the way you tied it in with Tony's reaction, not too forward, not too vocal, but visibly concerned and resigned, just clicked. There's still a couple of typos here and there (in the 3rd paragraph you have "the thought she was asleep" instead of "he", and there were a couple of minor punctuation things that aren't even really important enough to pick out in this review), but you did a good job for having no beta reader. Overall, I found myself sucked into this moment in their lives, and it was lovely.

really cute little story... but they have got to learn that tomorrow might be too late, later might be too late... you would think the 2 of them would realize that with what they see every single day, what they have been through personally and say what you mean when you want to say it... they might not get that later or tomorrow... just something to remember

If they ever did get together it would probably be mostly like this. Good take on their relationship!
