Seven lotuses, hey?

Well, ren is the Japanese on for the word hasu/hachisu which means lotus, and I suppose nana makes up the na bit? ; (ah yes, I just checked and in Japanese names, seven is na. :B)

So if this shows, I assume her name in kanji is: 蓮七.

This is good! I'm just not sure when Hibari's a girl and when he isn't sometimes, but that doesn't matter too much. XD; I really like the italics sections at the top of each chapter. XDD

I think some of the references to her being 'blind' don't seem as accurate as they should, but as it's all based on the way we imagine it anyway, I guess it doesn't really matter either. But people with sight disabilities would probably rely on both scent and hearing and touch to take the place of their eyes. Often these other senses are a lot better developed. Maybe you could look into that. ;

I understand that Hibari was referred to as 'she' during the flashback, but not when he hugged his daughter when she ran to him.
