One of the best "SmithersxBurns" fanfics I've read. It depicts perfectly Smithers' feelings, how much he's gripped by angst and desperation, because he knows his love for Burns will never be returned; he knows that feelings aren't mutual, and besides, he'll never dare to tell the truth. He'll resign to keep on serving the one he'll never have, and wait, until it all ends, one way or another.

The way it's written, one is totally drawn into the character's feelings, affection and frustration, daydreams and hopes, and especially the nervousness at the beginning and end. Beautifully written, from start to finish.

I never thought of looking for Simpsons fics afraid of what I might find, but this one was a nice surprise! The Smithers and Burns paring makes it all the better, good job.

aw, smithers, poor chicken, he's all sad and over mr. burns, oh, that's so annoying! you should make mr. burns totally wants him like insanely and then they can fall in love, oh, unrequited love is so sad *sigh* oh, pleeze continue this soon and make them kiss that would be so cute cause it can't be all depressy and one-sided, there should be some ACTION! farethee well!

I enjoyed this fic. Whenever I watch The Simpson's, and see Smithers and Mr. Burns together, I get all mushy inside, because Smither's is so in love with Montgomery, and gets nothing in return. This is a sweet look at Smithers' side of the relationship. I'd love to read more Smithers/Burns fanfiction, but it seems pretty hard to find. Perhaps I'll try my hand at writing it someday. :) Thanks for posting this.

It will quite well written, although I think there were too many ...'s. You used them very well to set atmosphere and, for me anyway, the brokeness of the sentances really made me feel sorry for poor ol' Smithers. On the other hand, there were so many of them that it became quite difficult to concentrate on the story. Otherwise, very good. *thumbs up*

Awww...Poor Smithers. I read this once before, but now that I've got both the First and Second seasons on DVD, I had to read it again...The second season is jsut full of Smithers/Burns stuff.

So wrong...and yet so right.
