Well, from the hints you gave, its not Madara. I have no idea what that Rod of Ages possesses besides knowledge for the worthy and true. From Minato's conversation with Sarutobi, he called the Third Sensei, so Jiraiya was either his father or nothing to him. When Minato told Sarutobi that if he found out who that man was, it would break his heart, I can only think of a couple of people. One is The First and Second Hokages, as they were his idols and teachers. Two, would be Orochimaru kept his operations and projects better hidden, but I doubt he could control the Kyuubi, so it either means that the roles of Jiraiya and Orochimaru have been switched. Or it could be a family member of the Third's like his father or son. Also, the profecy stated that "Four will become one, in Uzu,". So, obviosly four clans will intermarry and produce a child of legend with some kind of bloodline limit, like the Rinnegan and Sharingan together, the eyes of the Six Paths Sage and the Jyuubi. Since, Sarutobi practically had a shit-attack when Naruto opened his eyes and said, "Its True,"! Its now another of your stories that I am now officially hooked on. I think that's six now.
