So, this was incredible. I'd been searching all afternoon for a well written HDM fic to read (and lord how hard it is!) until I found this - and then I had to stop, because it's just incredible. Well written, for one thing - proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and all that - an intriguing plot with original characters that actually add to the story, and just an all 'round interesting, heartfelt story.

Everyone was wonderfully characterized, and I'm very interested to continue reading the continuation (which is what I'm off to do now!)

Brilliant! I absolutely loved it! Lyra's half sister! Clever! Like how Will was very real rather than still very love sick like most people portray him! Kirjava was a really good character, I think you could have made more of the argument between Mary and Will maybe a flash back to it or something? Loved the imagination of the way the Subtle Knife was reformed and how much control Kirjava had over Will. Again I think you could have made more of the boy and his father i didn't get what was happening there for a while!

Really good names! I find it near impossible to think of names for the daemon's especially!

P.S I noticed the Frodo Baggins and Will Parry connection! Wierd or suspicious oh well they are both really good characters!

this is an excellent story! I'm really enjoying it, and looking forward to THREADS. Just wondering, will Iorek show up at some point in the series? (he's my favorite character!)

Wonderful. I love His Dark Materials, and wished that it would go on and on.

Lots of loopholes are excellently explained in this (I thought that the Knife's work wasn't quite done yet).

Elizabeth was a good idea, as a character. I hope she and Lyra are friends in "Threads"!

Overall, wonderful.

Screw it, I'm enjoying this anyway.

I read the dark materials trilogy a long time back, years ago but I never got into fanfiction on it because I doubted that anyone could do it justice...

Quite good fanfiction, the afterthoughts are just too critical. Kirjava and Will's relationship was best bit, but with most potential as well, not revealing the letter's contents was an excellent decision. I expect your style's going to develope from here-this piece was mainly notable for suspense, which is good. Definately want more of Lizzie. Oh, and are you English or not?

Its great that you took the time to write this story. Its really good and beleivable and continues the trilogy almost as if phillip pullman was writing it...definetly one of the best and meticuously written fanfics ive read
