Liz Welker 5/3/10 . chapter 40First, you are a very talented writer! I am 68 years old and have been an avid reader since I was a young teenager. I know a good book when I read one. In my mind, one of the marks of a good book is if the reader wants to re-read the book. Your book, “Love…the true test of time-a 1876 soap opera,” is well-written and interesting, and definitely holds the reader’s attention. And I fully intend to re-read it a number of times. It should be published. There must be some way for you to contact the writers of “Kate and Leopold” and obtain their permission and cooperation to publish it. Have you had anything published? You should at least try. I have a friend who is a writer, but she has never had anything published. She hesitates to send anything she’s written to see if someone will publish it. I think that perhaps she is afraid. And I can understand that. I’m so glad that you had the courage to upload your novel for at least some of us read. I, like many others, have been fascinated with the story of “Kate and Leopold” and had fantasized a bit about what could have happened in their lives after the movie ended. But what you have written is so much better than I had imagined. But then, I’m not a writer. You are. Having said the above, there are some minor errors in grammar and spelling that could be easily corrected. Plus, when I read Chapter 38 – A Murder at Westlake, I became a little confused about who was where and what they were doing and had to go back and re-read some of it to clear up my confusion. Other than those two things, in my opinion, nothing should be changed. I would so love to see this novel published – I am sure that there are many who would very much enjoy reading it. And I do hope you finish the sequel. I want to know what happens next! |
