YES! This has ALWAYS bugged me about "Prophecy Girl." I mean, sure Angel doesn't need to breathe, but he TALKS, which means he BREATHES! And I even thought of the Angel being able to give more oxygen than Xander since Angel doesn't use the oxygen he breathes in. this has been bugging me forever.

I'd like to comment that I've had this conversation with anyone who will listen to me. It just struck me as really odd... not to mention impossible... that Angel can't breathe.

Mental note: just because I have seen and commented on a Taaroko story does not mean I have left a public review. You know how I finally got back to this one? Going through all the IWRY stories in order. Yours is *almost* the cap on the whole marathon.

Anyway, I'm going to admit right here that my favorite thing about "Waltz" is that it's illustrated (WHO DOES THAT? NOBODY DOES THAT), but this is the place for comments about the story itself, so let me just return to that headspace. Angel's part is so sweet, being all happy about his injuries because he gets more Buffy out of it. Great dialogue for Buffy. "Out-Queen's English"- hehehehe. And of course she's going to think that Angel's going to think her issue is stupid, and of course he really doesn't.

I already mentioned the bit about Buffy's heartbeat being Angel's music, but it's my favorite thing ever. Angel's tragedy persists even within a romantic setting: he can sense everything that makes a human, but he can never have it himself. I also like the way Buffy's theme comes through here - she probably doesn't realize it, but part of the reason she can pick up the steps to the dance so easily has to be her Slayer sensitivity and warrior training.

Some great lines at the end I'm not sure if I noticed, like Buffy deciding that nothing she'd done before ever qualified as dancing. Also a great line in the AN, since you know I can't pass up another mention of Buffy's bare neck.

I hope they kept doing this, like, all the time. Even if they never got to do it in public.
