This was a lovely story - touching and memorable and beautiful. Snape is still a sarky bastard, but he's likeable for all that, even though he himself would be appalled to hear that. _ His last gift to Harry is something precious and wonderful and sweet, for even if Dumbledore asked him to do it, Snape literally took all those memories from his mind and transferred them into the pensieve. Not copied them - transferred them so that he lost them completely. (If my understanding of pensieves from Goblet of Fire is right, that is.) That's a great sacrifice to make for someone you don't like. And the last line is proof that the most can be said with the simplest words.

Wow. You FORCE us to accept Severus' death, and we do so. And that ending! It's just... wow, once again. I liked this, and the theory that Voldemort would bring down those who bore the Dark Mark is a good one.

I enjoyed this story- thoughtful and perhaps a llittle melancholy... the ending did feel a tad too abrupt to me, but all in all, a great read. Thanks!

What a perfectly Severus Snape thing to do. Original concept in the idea that once Voldemort dies, his followers with the dark mark would too. I was literally tearing up by the end, knowing that in a way, Snape was at some sort of peace, but all the while growling at his unfair life. I think that ending quote by Sirius was perfect. "I was too hard on the bastard..." At least he realizes that now. *humph* Excellent work! I would love more Snape-fics from ya!
