It was a crime of passion - and he acknowledges that he bears some culpability for provoking it.
The abandonment of Rush reminded me of something similar in the short-lived Earth 2 series. I think it was actually worse when the other members of the Eden Project coolly voted to abandon Dr Heller. She made some poor choices but no one deserves to be abandoned that way. It's one of the most memorable scenes in sci fi for me, when she leaves her tent and discovers that she's all alone, essentially marooned in an alien environment.
And it was a turning point in her relationship with Alonzo when he left the others to return to her.
Sorry for the tangent - Earth 2 is one of those series that should have had a longer life (like Firefly, Starman and others).
I'm so glad SGU has been renewed and will go beyond the single season... |
