I really enjoyed this. I think Claire's descent into craziness would be a very interesting subject to explore, and you captured her slow unraveling quite well-the rationalization and emotion. I liked especially the touch of Charlie being in front of her, no matter which way she turned. It added just enough eeriness, even though we already know who it is anyways-because Claire doesn't know.

Anyway. I'm babbling. Keep it up! :) (Only 5 more to go-that must be an interesting thought.)

Hmmmm-wow. Really well done, as usual. I really enjoy your take on them as brothers, those in-between years, and how implicitly you're shaping Jacob's psychology.

(I gotta say, I was expecting another chapter with Illana post-the-last-one, but-all the same, this was wonderfully written. And very sad. Poor Jacob, always under his brother's shadow...)

Something that would be a good chapter would be another MIB/Claire interaction. I do ship that, which is kinda creepy (I have him turn into Charlie, and 'comfort' Claire), but it doesn't have to ship them, could just be them talking. Just an idea.

I'm still loving this. I love reading about Jacob as a father. The interactions between him and Ilana are sweet. I hate Esau for doing whatever he did.
