I loved this fic. Keith was a truly heartbreaking character for me, and I found myself empathizing with him strongly thorough the entire series, even despite the atrocities he committed in his adult life. Your fic literally made me cry. It was short but well-written, and I liked all these little scenes you created.

My favorite part was right at the beginning:

"Sam Houston could have told you, once, that Keith could smile for real, too. But Sam was gone now, and what was left no longer realized it was anything significant that Keith smiled at him."

OMG! This is really good! Well written and a great character piece.

I think this was really interesting, and it is also very nice to read fics from Keiths perspective. Wording felt bit weird at some places, but all in all I rather liked this.
