Wow...my own heart stopped briefly when I read this. It reminded me of that point in the game perfectly...and the 'tick, tick, tick' got me so on edge I ended up gripping the chair with both hands...it slowly drove me nuts (Ever read Edgar Allen Poe's 'The Tell-tale Heart'?). Basically, this was a really good story!

Hey this is really good. You really got into Irvine's head. That does make more scene why he was shook up. I don't know how he could do it. And you protraied his emotions and stress wonderfully. Wow, no doubt about it, you certainly know how to capture the emotions of these characters. You know what? I love to read epic stories, but these little short pieces you do are really great. They're long enough to get everything said that you want to say yet concice enough so as to be to the point and interesting. We had this conversation in English class last year about writers who just know how to say things precisely and elloquently without unnecessary flourish and fluff. I think you must be one of those lucky writers! )
