Max' last line in this part of your story "She knew she was doing the right thing" has haunted me for a while now. While rewatching some season 1 tapes I couldn't help noticing how well you pinpointed that aspect. And everything else for that matter. If I had to name a perfect insight into the characters, well, it's yours ! It's not only perfect but also bringing across a whole wealth of emotion. THANKS !

Beautifully done. Have to say I hate reviewing your writing because when I reread your pieces I feel like such an idiot for missing so much. How do you do that - make the writing seem so easy and simple on the surface but so complex and charged underneath. Definitely on my list of favourite authors - maybe if I reread a few more times...

An elegant, incredibly well written triptych depicting one of DA's best episodes. The threads of characterization you pull out for each character intertwine with the threads for the other two, creating a complex picture of their relationships, sacrifices, and the underlying emotions fuelling them. A Tale of Two Cities (or, in this case, of Seattle and Canada) indeed, and a never completed trip between them... Great stuff, and it's a pleasure to read about S1, the season of us fans falling in love with the show.
