Kathryn0505 5/13/10 . chapter 1I actually forgot that English isn't your first language. You write it really well, better than even some native speakers. I only remembered at the end when you wrote "ow." I think you meant "oh." "Ow" is like when something physically hurts you.
But seriously, this is great! I wanted a bit more to the episode, but of course we didn't get it. Great add-on! ] |
SweetSouthernGal 5/13/10 . chapter 1Bonjour! So, I happened to see the part of your author's note that said English isn't your first language, but it looked pretty decent so I thought I'd read anyways. And it is, honestly. Then I saw the quotation marks and wondered, looked at your profile and saw you're French. Which made me happy. Je suis une etudiante de francais! I've been studying French for almost four years now, and I'm about to start an advanced grammar class in the fall. My French is far from perfect, but it works for me relatively well. It's just pesky grammar...Anyway, I just wanted to offer my help. I know there are lots of weird things about English, many things many native speakers don't know. And I'm relatively skilled with my English grammar, certainly better than the Average Joe. And it is my native language. And since I do understand French, I may be uniquely qualified to help you with some of the more oddities. Especially in relating idioms and making things flow more naturally.
It really is quite good, grammar and English wise. But there are few awkward places and phrases. And in regards to style and plot and all that fun stuff, it's good. I liked the story, you wrote it well.
C'est fantastique!
(C'est plus simple pour moi d'ecrire en anglais quand je suis tres fatiguee, comme maintenant. Desolee!) |
