It's four in the morning and I really should go to bed, or do something productive like homework or read some more (or take up a hobby, become a doctor...), but I feel so compelled to review this. I read this days ago, and I've been unable to shake it.

I was just whining to someone probably the day that I read this that I measure a fic's value on subtext. On if there's something definitely happening in the background. Its third dimension. No matter how small the reference is, no matter how forced it seems, just that there's an obvious conscious acknowledgement of something bigger.

You found that, I think. And this is just such a fantastic example. No outside world. No yesterday, no tomorrow. And just that one little line, that doesn't quite fit with the tone or the forced sort of here-and-now tunnel vision. A whole other existence.

I'm impressed.
