 Dine89 5/17/10 . chapter 1A really awesome oneshot, I love it!
I definitely understand why Lindsay hesitates to tell Danny about her feelings. She doesn't want to bring this subject up again, right now when they've endured the worst.
I think Danny knows her better than himself, the same counts for Lindsay. They just know what to do and say to make the other one open up :)
I like that Danny knows how to make her talk, even without saying anything. Good to see that they've learned to talk to each other about what's on their minds and what's bothering them :)
I always love to see this special connection between them, it's really amazing to see how their relationship has changed over the years. |
afrozenheart412 5/17/10 . chapter 1To me this falls between Cuckoo's Nest and Manhattanhenge, in regards to DL where Lindsay is watching for any signs of pain. I LOVE that Danny let her process her thoughts on her own and not pushing. Both of them are not big talkers when it comes to their feelings but I think that Lindsay is a bit more than Danny. And now that they are married, they trust each other more and are open more to discussing what is going on with them, like in here. Now if only we could see that onscreen, it would be freaking awesome!
I always wondered if we would see this type of guilt from Lindsay but to see this has been great and so in character with her. She tends to protect her own fiercely but for Danny to be shot so closely after Jess's death...she is grappling with a lot of emotions. I LOVE that Danny told her there was nothing she could have done to have saved him the pain of being shot, that the bullet was faster. It was Danny's speech at the end that made me cry such wonderfully sad and happy tears. He is right in this instance. And to see Lindsay try her best to talk about her feelings more often, is excellent to me. HUGS!

"Don't you think I'd feel any different? Things are so much easier to handle when they happen to yourself. But when someone you love has to face something tough, it hurts just as much, possibly more because all you want is to help that person. It was hard to accept being in a wheelchair and going through all the shit to be able to walk again, but having you facing all that would have broken me. I still am amazed by how you helped me through that. It's only natural you're worried, I wouldn't feel any different. And that aside you have the right to be worried just like me. I'm your husband. We're not one person but we have a connection that's so much close than any connection to anyone else could be. We want each other to be fine. I guess there's nothing wrong with that." Once again he paused for a moment. "See...I really don't want you to feel guilty and I hope you'll stop that. But even if you're feeling like that again or if you're worried, I want you to come and talk to me about that. Who said that only I, the one who was paralysed, is allowed to talk about it? It's you also. Both of us were affected by it. I want you to come and talk, alright? Can you do that for me? Can you stop pretending everything's fine while it's not?"
"Lindsay had to admit accepting the offer to talk whenever she had something in mind she needed to share wasn't easy. But Danny was no stranger, he was the man she loved and the person she trusted in the most. Worries were something both of them had experienced so often, a feeling both of them understood. And sometimes just sharing thoughts with others already could help a lot. She was determined to try it more often, knowing he would do the same." |
